Serving
Christ for the glory of God and the good of others
This statement is shaped through a belief that the
ultimate purpose of man is to glorify God and that His children
accomplish this in three primary ways:
-
Through
an accurate representation of who and what God is.
In other words, what we say and teach about God must be true and
found in His Word (the Bible) alone.
Any other explanations regarding who He is as a person, or what
He does as God, are simply manmade creations and false representations
of Him, and should be rejected.
-
Through
a personal and corporate submission to Jesus as our Lord, Savior, and
Master. The testimony of
our personal acceptance of and faith in His sacrifice for our sin and
resurrection from the dead will be a new lifestyle obedient to His
commands motivated by love for His magnificent person.
Additionally, our lifestyle choices and practices should reflect
what we believe to be true in Him and what He expects in our lives.
-
Through
lives characterized by a continuing, passionate pursuit to sacrificially
serve and love others, as Christ modeled for us.
This service will be focused on bringing others into a
relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
This service will be enveloped by a selfless spirit which ignores
the personal cost and puts the needs of others ahead of personal
desires. Finally, this
service must never be accomplished in any form which would misrepresent
the person and perfections of God.
Believing these ideas to be Biblical, they are the
framework upon which all of Fellowship’s programs and ministries are
developed. If they do not
meet this standard, no matter how noble or good they may be, they are
outside the scope of this ministry.
